My opinion on the Blue/Green naming (and why it is slowly causing me to die)

Greetings humans and/or aliens. Today I am here to talk about how, in the Manga, Blue is referred to as "Green" in the Japanese version. This makes me want to die.

My biggest pet peeve is people calling Blue Green. Unless you are from, or are in Japan, the correct name is Blue, if you are in Japan, the correct name is Green. Stop trying to be Japanese and confusing everyone who calls Blue by HIS correct name.

    Thank you,
    Fulure

I would agree calling him Blue in the english translation of the Manga, but if it's the fansubbed Japanese version I'd call him Green.

Similar to the Anime department: for example Jessie is known as Musashi in the anime, but what really peeves me off is that it's fine to call her Jessie in the dub, but in fan traslations some "translators" (I say it very loosely) put jessie instead of her original name "musashi".

Uh... those 2 characters are the most confusing of the entire series...
but for me it's like this:
[IMG] Blue -> because she got Squirtle and her eye color is blue

[IMG] Green -> because is Red's rival (Red and Green are the first 2 games released in Japan, Blue followed after them) and his eye color is green

But I really don't care how people call them until we know about who we are talking about asd

I agree with this, but I don't really mind when people type their english names as when I watch the league dubbed (I watch everything subbed for earlier uploads but when the leagues comes out dubbed I watch that) but when it comes to the manga I just wish people would say for example: Blue(guy) or Blue(girl) so I don't die a little when they're talking about the Green.

Also if you couldn't tell I use the international names.

I can kinda see where that is coming from, but with that logic Red should be named Green because he choose the best Kanto starter and Blue should be called Orange because he choose the overrated piece of garbage Charmander (who is Orange not red) and if we talk about eye colour...

Green is exclusive japan game, then the rival is Green just in japan

Blue is in the rest of the World. Blue is the rival in the rest of the World

It's a Pokemon Company requirement for the manga. If you are not a japanese person then Blue is the Guy and Green is the Girl

The confusion occurs because the scanlators use the japanese version when they should use the internacional, like the official mangas

Scanlators try to use the official Japanese versions of names or the ones that are the most closed ones to the source material (and I really like that)

It was really fun when Red & Blue returned in Sun/Moon and our international version used "Blue" when he wear a lot of green XDD
