Upload a file button not working

Maybe this should be in a staff related thread, but I found that the "upload a file" button is not working for me anymore in mobile mode.
I use Safari on ios.
I just thought it'd be best to inform yall but it could just be a minor problem on my side.

It is working for me on Android i can try my iPad in a second

I just tryed with both my phone/tablet and everything works... but I used Chrome on both my phones...
Can you do a stamp so I can search about it a little more? And, when you started having this problem?

Tried it on Firefox for Android... It failed.
While it shows the "uploading" icon, when it finishes, no file is displayed.

I downloaded Firefox (Android) on my phone and the button works....
If the file is too big appears a message "the uploaded file is too big" or something like that... I tryed another file and the upload was successful...
so if it's the first message I can change the permissions so we can upload bigger sizes...

I mentioned this last time, but it seems like the new skin still won't allow me to upload a file in mobile mode. Also, it doesn't reveal images from the spoiler button. It's just blank space.

Yep! The 20th anniversary one works
Sun and Moon work too

I checked the spoiler problem too, and they work on the other skins too

You are using Safari right (Star Safari?)? The latest version? For iOS or Android?

I downloaded Safari Star (for Android) and it works... maybe it's a bug of the iOS version... for now I can only suggest you to try Firefox or Chrome to see if it will solve the problem...

I'm reading now on xenforo that it's a know bug of Safari in iOS 8

Safari does have a new JS engine if I remember correctly so that may explain the somewhat inconsistent performance between the browsers.

I haven't found a solution, but it's pretty crazy.

The blue line next to the button is the text input caret.

Invariably when this happens, the button is completely unresponsive. But it isn't permanently unresponsive. I haven't conclusively worked out what the trigger is, yet, but sometimes the button will begin to function normally as a button.

It appears as though it could be RTE related as if the RTE is disabled, the issue goes away.

Also relevant is the text label for the button always works. So when it isn't working if you just aim a little higher, the button will get activated.

Nothing out of the ordinary in the JS console. I messed around with some CSS but no joy.

We have now confirmed that this is a fundamental iOS8 bug where it simply doesn't send the file through to the server. This is affecting a number of other apps, including WordPress
